A major highlight of the convention will be the awards program on Friday evening, which will recognize county Farm Bureaus as well as individuals, for their outstanding contributions to the field of agriculture. The business meeting gets under way during the general session on Saturday morning, which will open with a devotional service, followed by reports and resolutions review.
Saturday’s featured speaker at the Women’s Committee Luncheon will be Betty Ireland, West Virginia Secretary of State. Speaking at the general luncheon, hosted by Nationwide Insurance, will be Terry McClure, a director of Nationwide’s financial services division. Entertainment for the Saturday evening banquet will be provided by One-A-Chord, an a capella quartet from Barnesville, Ohio.
The last day of the convention, Sunday, will begin with a memorial service to honor those members who passed away during the previous year. Following a short break, any business leftover from the previous day will be addressed and elections for officers and regional directors will take place.
Representing more than 17,000 members, the West Virginia Farm Bureau was founded in 1919 to provide leadership, education, information, training and economic services to county farm bureaus to enhance the quality of life for its membership.
